Pangu was born from chaos and for he held up the heavens, separating the Heaven from Earth. After he died, his body transformed into the various parts of the world.

PANGU is a sand drawing stop-motion animation. I intend to use sand to imitate the feature of the traditional Chinese landscape painting. crated sand drawing on the light-box. When light came through the sand, it would display black or gray silhouette based on the sand’s thickness, which is similar to the Chinese traditional painting.

PANGU is a Chinese creation myth. According to the myth, PANGU is the creator of this universe and he creates the Sky and the Earth when he is hatched from the chaos. PANGU holds the Heaven and Earth apart until he died. After that, his body becomes a part of the world. I intended to express the aesthetics of traditional Chinese painting through the feature of the sand drawing.
